What's Next

So, what's next?

Dry Woods

I will use my graduate studies as well as the culmination of my education and experience thus far to work toward becoming a certified drama therapist. It is my intention to bring the joy of theatre to disabled, neurodivergent, and chronically ill children who need an outlet to express themselves and build core skills.  This purpose brings together my passions for the arts, psychology, and working with children. It is a unique and often lonely experience to be, or become disabled. I am grateful for this change of direction in my life leading me toward bringing this perspective to nonprofit work with disabled adolescents.

Currently, I work with a local arts nonprofit, The Play Company, as Development Assistant, working to procure and maintain funding for our arts programming.  This role has enriched my professional experience, as I am an integral part of a small team that makes global art accessible to New Yorkers, and brings the global arts community together. Moving forward, it is my intention to use the skills and experience I have gained at PlayCo to support and create other nonprofit organizations. This hands-on experience in conjunction with my Masters degree has been deeply fulfilling and has expanded the breadth of my knowledge and understanding.
